The effective governance and active engagement of members within cooperatives are critical factors in ensuring sustainable development and operational efficiency; however, many cooperatives face challenges in leveraging digital tools to enhance participation, transparency, and decision-making transparency. This study aims to explore the integration of digital platforms as a means of strengthening cooperative governance structures and increasing member engagement, with specific objectives to assess existing digital solutions, identify barriers to adoption, analyze their impact on governance practices, and formulate guidelines for effective implementation. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative survey research with qualitative interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. The quantitative component involves a sample of 300 cooperative members drawn from registered cooperatives in a national federation, using stratified random sampling to ensure representation across different cooperative sectors such as agriculture, credit, and consumer cooperatives. Data collection instruments include a structured questionnaire developed based on existing constructs related to digital platform usage, governance participation, and member engagement, with reliability confirmed via Cronbach’s alpha coefficients exceeding 0.8. The qualitative component comprises semi-structured interviews with 20 cooperative managers and ICT specialists to gain insights into operational challenges and best practices concerning digital integration. The study expects to reveal that perceived barriers such as limited digital literacy, infrastructural deficits, and resistance to change impede optimal adoption, but that targeted capacity-building and tailored digital solutions can mitigate these challenges. It is also anticipated that the research will validate key theories, such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Stakeholder Theory, in explaining the behavioral and organizational factors influencing digital platform adoption within cooperatives. This research contributes to the expanding body of knowledge on ICT-driven innovations in cooperative management by providing empirical evidence on the impact of digital platform integration on governance effectiveness and member engagement. It advances the theoretical understanding of technology adoption in collective organizations and offers practical insights for cooperative leaders, policymakers, and ICT developers seeking to optimize digital tools for cooperative development. The study concludes that strategic digital integration holds the potential to transform cooperative governance, enhance participatory democracy, and foster sustainable operational models. Based on these findings, the research recommends the development of sector-specific digital platforms, emphasis on digital literacy training for members, and the establishment of supportive policy frameworks to facilitate seamless integration. It also suggests avenues for further research, including longitudinal studies to evaluate long-term impacts and comparative analyses across different regional contexts. Overall, this study underscores the transformative role of information and communications technology in redefining cooperative governance and engagement paradigms, offering actionable strategies to harness digital solutions for inclusive and participatory cooperative development.
