Assessing the Effectiveness of Peer Assessment in Biology Education

Thesis Abstract

This research project aims to assess the effectiveness of peer assessment in biology education. Peer assessment is a form of collaborative learning where students provide feedback and evaluate each other's work. It has been suggested as an effective strategy for promoting student engagement, critical thinking, and self-regulated learning. However, limited research has examined the specific benefits and challenges of implementing peer assessment in the context of biology education. This study will employ a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, classroom observations, and student interviews, to investigate the impact of peer assessment on student learning outcomes, attitudes, and perceptions of biology. The research findings will contribute to the understanding of the effectiveness of peer assessment in biology education and provide practical recommendations for its implementation.
