Cancer is a complex and devastating disease characterized by uncontrolled cell growth and proliferation. The dysregulation of gene expression plays a critical role in cancer development and progression. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally and have been implicated in various biological processes, including cancer. This thesis aims to investigate the role of specific miRNAs in regulating gene expression in cancer cells, with a focus on understanding their potential as therapeutic targets. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, including the background of the research, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The introduction sets the stage for the research by highlighting the importance of studying miRNAs in cancer biology. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review of ten key studies related to miRNAs and their role in cancer. This section provides a theoretical framework for the research, highlighting the current knowledge and gaps in the field. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the experimental design, sample collection, miRNA profiling techniques, data analysis methods, validation strategies, and statistical analyses.
