This project aims to explore the intricate relationship between biochemistry and drug metabolism in the adipose tissue. Adipose tissue, commonly known as fat, is not only an energy storage site but also plays a crucial role in drug distribution and metabolism. The project will investigate the enzymatic processes involved in drug metabolism within the adipose tissue, including the role of cytochrome P450 enzymes and drug transporters. Additionally, the project will examine the impact of adipose tissue on drug pharmacokinetics and the potential implications for drug efficacy and toxicity.
