Thesis Abstract

This project aims to investigate the biochemistry of plant secondary metabolites, focusing on the diverse chemical compounds produced by plants that are not directly involved in primary metabolic processes. Plant secondary metabolites play crucial roles in plant defense, communication, and adaptation to the environment. This research will explore the biosynthetic pathways and regulatory mechanisms involved in the production of secondary metabolites, such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and phenolic compounds. The project will also examine the biological activities and potential applications of these plant compounds. By understanding the biochemistry of plant secondary metabolites, this study aims to contribute to the discovery of novel bioactive compounds with pharmaceutical, agricultural, and industrial significance.
