MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that play crucial roles in gene regulation and have been implicated in various biological processes, including cancer progression. This thesis aims to explore the role of miRNAs in cancer progression and their potential as therapeutic targets. The study will investigate the dysregulation of specific miRNAs in different types of cancer and how these dysregulated miRNAs contribute to tumor development, metastasis, and drug resistance. Additionally, the thesis will examine the therapeutic potential of targeting these miRNAs for cancer treatment. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, background information on miRNAs, the problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key aspects related to miRNAs in cancer progression and therapeutic targeting. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including study design, sample collection, data analysis, and statistical methods, among others. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings, including the identification of dysregulated miRNAs in different types of cancer, the mechanisms by which these miRNAs drive cancer progression, and the potential therapeutic strategies targeting these miRNAs.
