MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that play a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in understanding the role of miRNAs in cancer development and progression. This thesis aims to explore the intricate relationship between miRNAs and cancer, focusing on their involvement in tumor initiation, growth, metastasis, and response to therapy. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the topic, presenting the background of the study and highlighting the problem statement. The objectives of the study are outlined, along with the limitations and scope of the research. The significance of the study is emphasized, and the structure of the thesis is detailed, along with the definition of key terms.
