This project aims to explore the biochemistry of drug metabolism in the cartilage, a specialized connective tissue found in joints. The cartilage plays a crucial role in joint function and is often affected by diseases such as osteoarthritis. Understanding the biochemical processes involved in drug metabolism within the cartilage is essential for developing effective therapies for cartilage-related disorders. The project will investigate the enzymatic pathways and drug transporters involved in drug metabolism in the cartilage, as well as the impact of cartilage metabolism on drug pharmacokinetics. The findings from this study will contribute to a better understanding of drug metabolism in the cartilage and may have implications for the development of targeted therapies for cartilage-related diseases
