Protein ubiquitination is a post-translational modification that plays a crucial role in regulating protein stability, localization, and function. This project aims to analyze the biochemistry of protein ubiquitination and its implications in cellular processes. Through a combination of biochemical assays, proteomic analysis, and structural studies, we will investigate the enzymes involved in protein ubiquitination, the substrates targeted for ubiquitination, and the functional consequences of this modification. Additionally, we will explore the role of protein ubiquitination in disease states, such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The findings from this study will enhance our understanding of the biochemistry of protein ubiquitination and its potential as a therapeutic target.
