The preservation and revitalization of traditional craftsmanship pose significant challenges amidst rapid technological advancement and shifting market demands, leading to the erosion of indigenous artisanal skills and cultural heritage. This study seeks to explore how digital design innovation can serve as a catalyst for revitalizing heritage craftsmanship within the context of the Artisan Cooperative, a community-based organization renowned for its traditional textile and jewelry-making practices. The primary aim is to assess the extent to which digital tools and processes can enhance artisans’ creative capacity, market reach, and socioeconomic sustainability, thereby fostering a sustainable model for heritage-based craft revival. To achieve these objectives, the research adopts a mixed-methods design, integrating qualitative case study methodology with quantitative survey and experimental approaches. The population comprises 150 artisan members of the cooperative and 200 potential consumers, with a purposive sample of 60 artisans and 100 consumers selected through stratified random sampling to ensure representativeness. Data collection instruments include semi-structured interview guides, structured questionnaires, and a digital design intervention facilitated through CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools. Through these insights, the research contributes novel knowledge by establishing a comprehensive framework linking digital design innovation with heritage craft revitalization, grounded in the theoretical perspectives of the Diffusion of Innovations theory and the Creative Economy paradigm. The study advances understanding of how digital transformation can be strategically leveraged in traditional artisan contexts to ensure cultural preservation while fostering economic sustainability. Key implications include recommendations for policymakers, development agencies, and craft organizations to invest in digital literacy programs, develop affordable CAD platforms tailored for artisans, and promote platforms for online marketing and global exposure. The main conclusion underscores the transformative potential of integrating digital design tools in heritage craftsmanship and advocates for a holistic approach encompassing capacity building, resource allocation, and community engagement. The study ultimately aims to inform sustainable craft revitalization policies and facilitate a scalable model adaptable to other artisan communities facing similar challenges globally.
