Urban high-rise developments have become increasingly prevalent in modern cities as a response to the growing population and limited space. However, the densification of urban areas often leads to a lack of green spaces, which are essential for the well-being of residents and the overall sustainability of the built environment. This thesis explores the integration of green spaces in urban high-rise developments, aiming to enhance the quality of life for urban dwellers while promoting environmental sustainability. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, discussing the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. The chapter sets the foundation for the study and outlines the importance of integrating green spaces in high-rise developments. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review, covering ten key areas related to green spaces, urban high-rise developments, sustainable design, biophilic design principles, user preferences, health and well-being benefits of green spaces, urban heat island effect, biodiversity, and case studies of successful green integration projects. The review synthesizes existing knowledge and identifies gaps for further investigation. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations.
