Abstract
The use of probiotics in animal nutrition has gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential benefits in improving animal health and performance. This study aimed to investigate the impact of probiotics on the gut microbiota of broiler chickens. The research was conducted using a randomized controlled trial design, with broiler chickens divided into two groups one receiving a probiotic supplement and the other serving as a control group. The study began with a thorough literature review to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of probiotics in animal nutrition and their effects on gut health and microbiota composition. Various probiotic strains and their mechanisms of action were evaluated to determine the most effective probiotics for broiler chickens. In the research methodology, detailed information on the experimental design, sample collection, probiotic administration, and gut microbiota analysis was provided. The study included a range of parameters to assess the gut microbiota composition, such as microbial diversity, abundance of beneficial bacteria, and presence of pathogenic bacteria. The findings of the study revealed that the probiotic-supplemented group exhibited a significant improvement in gut microbiota composition compared to the control group. The probiotics led to an increase in beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, while reducing the abundance of harmful bacteria like Escherichia coli. Additionally, the probiotic supplementation positively influenced the overall microbial diversity and stability of the gut microbiota in broiler chickens. The discussion of the findings highlighted the potential mechanisms through which probiotics exert their beneficial effects on the gut microbiota, including competitive exclusion, enhancement of gut barrier function, and modulation of immune responses. The implications of these results for improving broiler chicken health, growth performance, and disease resistance were extensively discussed. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that probiotics have a significant impact on the gut microbiota of broiler chickens, leading to a more balanced and healthy microbial community. The findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the use of probiotics in animal nutrition and emphasize the importance of gut health in enhancing animal welfare and productivity. Further research is recommended to explore additional probiotic strains and optimize their use in broiler chicken production.
