The weaning process is a critical period in the life of lambs, as it involves the separation of the young animals from their mothers and the transition to solid food. This study aims to investigate the effects of different weaning strategies on stress levels in lambs. The research will compare the traditional abrupt weaning method with a gradual weaning approach, where lambs are gradually introduced to solid feed while still having access to their mothers. The stress levels of the lambs will be assessed through physiological indicators such as cortisol levels and heart rate variability. Additionally, behavioral observations will be conducted to evaluate the lambs' responses to the weaning process. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of weaning strategies on the welfare and stress levels of lambs, providing valuable insights for improving animal management practices.
