Investigating the effects of different weaning ages on growth performance in piglets

The weaning process is a critical period in the life of piglets, as it involves a transition from a liquid-based diet to solid feed. The timing of weaning can significantly impact the growth performance and overall health of piglets. This study aims to investigate the effects of different weaning ages on the growth performance of piglets. By comparing piglets weaned at different ages, ranging from 14 to 28 days, this research will provide valuable insights into the optimal weaning age for maximizing growth and minimizing stress in piglets. The study will involve monitoring growth parameters such as average daily gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio, as well as assessing stress indicators such as cortisol levels. The findings of this study will contribute to the development of evidence-based recommendations for optimizing the weaning age in piglet management practices.
