Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the global demand for animal protein. However, various challenges such as disease outbreaks, antibiotic resistance, and environmental concerns have prompted the search for alternative strategies to enhance poultry health and production. Probiotics, as beneficial microorganisms, have gained significant attention for their potential to improve gut health and overall performance in poultry. This thesis explores the effects of probiotics on gut health in poultry production. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review, discussing ten key studies related to probiotics and gut health in poultry. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology, including the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and statistical analysis procedures. Additionally, this chapter describes the ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. In Chapter 4, the findings of the study are discussed in detail. The effects of probiotics on gut health parameters such as microbial balance, immune response, nutrient absorption, and growth performance in poultry are analyzed and interpreted. The chapter also explores potential mechanisms underlying the observed effects of probiotics on poultry gut health. Finally, Chapter 5 presents the conclusions drawn from the study and provides a summary of the key findings.
