Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The aim of this research project was to investigate the effects of probiotics on gut health in poultry farming. The poultry industry plays a significant role in providing a sustainable source of protein for human consumption. However, maintaining the health and productivity of poultry flocks is crucial for the success of this industry. Gut health is a key factor in poultry production as it is closely linked to nutrient absorption, immune function, and overall well-being of the birds. Probiotics are live microorganisms that are known to promote gut health by balancing the microbial population in the digestive tract. This study conducted a comprehensive review of existing literature on the use of probiotics in poultry farming. The literature review revealed various studies that have demonstrated the beneficial effects of probiotics on gut health, growth performance, immune response, and disease resistance in poultry. The mechanisms by which probiotics exert their effects on gut health were also explored, including their ability to modulate the gut microbiota, improve nutrient absorption, and enhance the immune system of the birds. In the research methodology chapter, the experimental design and procedures for the study were detailed.
