Abstract
This thesis investigates the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The study aims to evaluate how varying feeding regimes impact the growth, feed conversion ratio, and overall performance of broiler chickens. The research methodology involved a comparative analysis of three feeding strategies ad libitum feeding, restricted feeding, and intermittent fasting. A total of 300 broiler chickens were divided into three groups, with each group subjected to one of the feeding strategies. The study monitored the growth parameters, feed intake, feed efficiency, and carcass characteristics of the chickens over a period of 8 weeks. The literature review provides a comprehensive overview of previous studies on broiler nutrition, feed management, and growth performance. It highlights the importance of proper nutrition in maximizing the growth potential of broiler chickens and emphasizes the need for efficient feeding strategies to optimize feed utilization and production outcomes. The results of the study revealed significant differences in growth performance among the three feeding strategies. Broiler chickens under the ad libitum feeding regime exhibited the highest growth rate but also had the poorest feed conversion ratio. In contrast, chickens under the intermittent fasting regime showed improved feed efficiency despite slightly lower growth rates. Restricted feeding resulted in moderate growth performance and feed utilization efficiency. The discussion of findings delves into the implications of the results and provides insights into the practical applications of the study. The findings suggest that different feeding strategies can influence the growth performance and feed efficiency of broiler chickens, highlighting the importance of tailored feeding programs based on production goals and resource availability. In conclusion, this study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on broiler nutrition and feed management by demonstrating the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The results underscore the need for a balanced approach to feeding practices to optimize growth, feed efficiency, and overall production outcomes in broiler farming.
