Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the global demand for high-quality protein sources. Among poultry species, broiler chickens are widely reared for meat production due to their rapid growth rate. However, the growth performance of broiler chickens is influenced by various factors, with nutrition being a key determinant. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The research methodology involved a comparative analysis of three feeding strategies a standard commercial diet, a diet supplemented with probiotics, and a diet enriched with plant extracts. A total of 300 broiler chickens were randomly assigned to three treatment groups, with each group receiving one of the feeding strategies. The growth performance parameters assessed included body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rate. The findings revealed significant differences in growth performance among the three feeding strategies. Broiler chickens fed the diet supplemented with probiotics exhibited the highest body weight gain and the lowest feed conversion ratio, indicating improved growth efficiency compared to the other groups. Additionally, the mortality rate was lower in the probiotics-supplemented group, suggesting potential health benefits associated with probiotic supplementation. Furthermore, the study explored the underlying mechanisms through which the different feeding strategies influenced growth performance, focusing on nutrient absorption, gut health, and immune function. The results indicated that probiotics and plant extracts may enhance nutrient utilization and immune response, thereby promoting better growth performance in broiler chickens. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into the impact of feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The findings underscore the importance of optimizing nutrition to maximize growth efficiency and profitability in poultry production. By incorporating probiotics and plant extracts into broiler diets, farmers can potentially enhance the overall health and productivity of their flocks. Future research should explore additional feeding strategies and investigate the long-term effects on broiler performance and meat quality.
