Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in providing a sustainable source of protein for human consumption. Broiler chickens, in particular, are a popular choice due to their rapid growth rate and efficient feed conversion. However, optimizing growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens remains a key challenge for producers. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding strategies on growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. The literature review in Chapter Two explores ten key studies related to feeding strategies, growth performance, and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens, providing a comprehensive overview of existing knowledge in the field. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the research design, sample population, data collection methods, statistical analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. The methodology aims to provide a rigorous framework for investigating the effects of various feeding strategies on broiler chicken performance. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, analyzing the impact of different feeding strategies on growth performance indicators such as body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio. Nutrient utilization parameters including protein efficiency ratio, energy efficiency ratio, and nutrient digestibility are also evaluated to assess the overall effectiveness of the feeding strategies. In the concluding Chapter Five, the study summarizes the key findings and implications for the poultry industry. Recommendations for optimizing feeding strategies to enhance growth performance and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens are provided, highlighting areas for further research and development in poultry nutrition.
