Abstract
The utilization of probiotics in animal production has gained significant attention due to their potential benefits in improving growth performance and gut health. This study aimed to investigate the effect of probiotics on the growth performance and gut health of broiler chickens. The research was conducted over a specified period, during which broiler chickens were divided into two groups one group receiving a probiotic supplement and the other serving as the control group. Various parameters, including body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, gut microbiota composition, intestinal morphology, and immune response, were evaluated to assess the impact of probiotics on the broilers. The findings revealed that the broiler chickens supplemented with probiotics exhibited improved growth performance compared to the control group. Specifically, the probiotic-treated chickens showed a higher body weight gain and better feed conversion ratio, indicating enhanced nutrient utilization and growth efficiency. Furthermore, the analysis of gut health parameters demonstrated that probiotics positively influenced the gut microbiota composition, promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria and reducing harmful pathogens. The probiotic supplementation also resulted in improved intestinal morphology, characterized by increased villus height and surface area, which are essential for nutrient absorption. Additionally, the study assessed the immune response of broiler chickens to probiotic supplementation. The results indicated that probiotics enhanced the immune function of the chickens, as evidenced by increased levels of immunoglobulins and cytokines. This suggests that probiotics may play a role in boosting the immune system and enhancing disease resistance in broiler chickens. In conclusion, the findings of this study support the beneficial effects of probiotics on the growth performance and gut health of broiler chickens. The results highlight the potential of probiotics as a natural and sustainable approach to improving animal production efficiency and health. Further research is warranted to explore the optimal dosage and duration of probiotic supplementation for maximizing the benefits in broiler production. Overall, this study contributes valuable insights into the use of probiotics as a promising strategy for optimizing the performance and health of broiler chickens.
