This research project aims to assess the impact of different flooring systems on foot health in poultry. Poultry farming is a significant industry worldwide, and foot health is crucial for the overall welfare and productivity of birds. The flooring system plays a vital role in providing a suitable environment for poultry, affecting their comfort, mobility, and foot health. This study will evaluate various flooring systems commonly used in poultry farms, including wire mesh, slatted floors, and litter-based systems. The research will involve assessing foot health indicators such as footpad dermatitis, hock burns, and toe lesions. The findings of this study will contribute to improving poultry welfare and guiding farmers in selecting appropriate flooring systems to enhance foot health in their flocks.
