This research project aims to assess the impact of different flooring systems on claw health in dairy cattle. Claw health is a critical aspect of overall animal welfare and productivity in dairy farming. The flooring surface in dairy barns plays a significant role in the development of claw disorders such as lameness. Lameness not only causes pain and discomfort to the animals but also leads to economic losses for farmers. Therefore, understanding the effects of different flooring systems on claw health is crucial for improving animal welfare and optimizing dairy farm management practices. This study will involve the evaluation of various flooring materials and their impact on claw health indicators, including claw lesions, hoof growth, and weight-bearing patterns. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the selection and design of flooring systems that promote optimal claw health in dairy cattle.
