Thesis Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as a global concern, posing significant threats to both human and animal health. This project aims to assess the impact of antimicrobial resistance on animal health and food safety. The study will involve a comprehensive review of existing literature, analyzing the factors contributing to the development and spread of AMR in animals. Additionally, the project will investigate the consequences of AMR on animal health, including increased morbidity and mortality rates. Furthermore, the research will explore the potential transmission of AMR from animals to humans through the food chain, highlighting the risks associated with consuming antimicrobial-resistant bacteria-contaminated animal products. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the implications of AMR in animal agriculture and provide insights into strategies for mitigating its impact on animal health and food safety.
