The emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance pose a significant threat to both human and animal health. While the role of genetic factors in antibiotic resistance is well-established, the contribution of animal behavior in the spread of antibiotic resistance remains poorly understood. This project aims to investigate the role of animal behavior in the transmission and dissemination of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. By analyzing the behavior patterns of animals in different settings, such as farms, wildlife habitats, and companion animal households, this study seeks to identify potential behavioral factors that contribute to the spread of antibiotic resistance. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the complex dynamics between animal behavior and antibiotic resistance, ultimately aiding in the development of effective strategies for mitigating the spread of antibiotic resistance in both animal and human populations.
