Thesis Abstract
Adult learners have different educational needs and preferences compared to traditional students due to factors like prior professional experience, family and work responsibilities, and intrinsic motivations for learning. This project explores effective teaching methods and instructional design approaches suited for adult education. It analyzes andragogical principles of adult learning and reviews research on characteristics of adult learners. Various active and engaging teaching strategies are discussed along with considerations for course structure, content delivery and assessment of adult students. The goal is to provide recommendations to educators on creating a student-centered learning environment that caters to mature learners.
