Climate change is a pressing global issue that poses significant threats to marine biodiversity and ecosystems. This thesis aims to explore the impact of climate change on marine environments, focusing on how rising temperatures, ocean acidification, and extreme weather events are influencing marine biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical research, this study seeks to enhance our understanding of the challenges faced by marine organisms and ecosystems in the context of climate change. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and key definitions. The chapter sets the stage for the subsequent chapters by outlining the rationale and framework for the study. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review comprising ten key items that examine existing research on the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity and ecosystems. This chapter synthesizes current knowledge and identifies gaps in the literature, providing a foundation for the empirical research conducted in this study. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the research methodology, ensuring the validity and reliability of the findings. Chapter Four presents the findings of the empirical research, offering an in-depth analysis of the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity and ecosystems. Through case studies and data analysis, this chapter explores the various ways in which climate change is affecting marine organisms, habitats, and ecosystem services.
