Abstract
Climate change is a significant global issue that has wide-ranging impacts on ecosystems, including marine biodiversity. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of climate change on marine biodiversity, focusing on various aspects such as species distribution, abundance, and interactions within marine ecosystems. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical data analysis, this thesis provides valuable insights into the current state of marine biodiversity in the context of climate change. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background of the research, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two consists of a detailed literature review comprising ten key topics related to climate change and marine biodiversity. This chapter explores existing research findings, theories, and methodologies that have contributed to our understanding of the subject. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the methodology. Chapter Four presents a thorough discussion of the research findings, highlighting the effects of climate change on marine biodiversity and the implications for ecosystem functioning and services. The concluding Chapter Five summarizes the key findings of the study, discusses their implications, and offers recommendations for future research and policy interventions. Overall, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the impacts of climate change on marine biodiversity and underscores the urgent need for conservation efforts to mitigate these effects and protect marine ecosystems for future generations.
