Abstract
Tick-borne diseases pose a significant threat to the health and well-being of domestic dogs in many regions worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and identify the risk factors associated with tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs within a specific region. A comprehensive examination was conducted to determine the prevalence of various tick-borne diseases, including Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, and babesiosis, among others. Additionally, the study aimed to identify environmental, demographic, and behavioral risk factors that may contribute to the transmission and spread of these diseases in domestic dog populations. The research methodology included a combination of field surveys, laboratory testing, and data analysis to gather and analyze relevant information. Through systematic data collection and statistical analysis, the study identified key risk factors such as geographical location, climate, age, sex, breed, outdoor activities, and preventive measures. The findings revealed varying prevalence rates of tick-borne diseases among different regions and highlighted the importance of preventive measures, such as tick control, vaccination, and regular screening, in reducing the risk of disease transmission. The discussion of findings emphasized the need for targeted public health interventions and awareness campaigns to educate pet owners about the risks associated with tick-borne diseases and promote responsible pet ownership practices. The study also underscored the importance of collaboration between veterinary professionals, public health authorities, and pet owners to mitigate the impact of tick-borne diseases on domestic dog populations. In conclusion, this thesis provides valuable insights into the prevalence and risk factors of tick-borne diseases in domestic dogs in a specific region. The findings contribute to the existing knowledge base on tick-borne diseases and offer practical recommendations for disease prevention and control strategies. By addressing the identified risk factors and implementing targeted interventions, stakeholders can work together to safeguard the health and well-being of domestic dogs and reduce the burden of tick-borne diseases in the community.
