Abstract
This thesis investigates the application of stem cell therapy as a promising treatment modality for osteoarthritis in dogs. Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease in dogs, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Current treatment options mainly focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying cause of the disease. Stem cell therapy offers a regenerative approach that aims to repair damaged joint tissues and potentially slow down the progression of osteoarthritis. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. The chapter also includes definitions of key terms related to stem cell therapy and osteoarthritis in dogs. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on the use of stem cell therapy in veterinary medicine, specifically focusing on osteoarthritis treatment in dogs.
