Abstract
Zoonotic diseases pose a significant threat to both human and animal health, highlighting the importance of understanding their prevalence and associated risk factors. This thesis investigates the prevalence and risk factors of zoonotic diseases in companion animals, focusing on the potential transmission pathways and implications for public health. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical research, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the epidemiology of zoonotic diseases in companion animals, contributing to the development of effective prevention and control strategies. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review encompassing ten key aspects related to zoonotic diseases in companion animals, synthesizing existing knowledge and identifying gaps in the literature. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the study design, sampling methods, data collection procedures, and statistical analysis techniques. This chapter also discusses ethical considerations and potential limitations of the research methodology. Chapter Four presents a thorough discussion of the research findings, analyzing the prevalence and risk factors associated with zoonotic diseases in companion animals based on empirical data. The final chapter, Chapter Five, offers a comprehensive conclusion and summary of the thesis, highlighting the key findings, implications for practice, and recommendations for future research.
