Abstract
Osteoarthritis is a prevalent degenerative joint disease affecting canines, leading to pain, decreased mobility, and reduced quality of life. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising treatment modality for osteoarthritis due to its regenerative potential and anti-inflammatory properties. This thesis investigates the efficacy of stem cell therapy in treating canine osteoarthritis through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, research methodology, and discussion of findings. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two examines ten key studies on stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in canines, discussing the mechanisms of action, treatment protocols, outcomes, and challenges. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the selection of study subjects, stem cell isolation and characterization, treatment administration, follow-up assessments, and data analysis techniques. The chapter also addresses ethical considerations, sample size determination, and statistical methods employed.
