Abstract
Telemedicine, as an emerging technological advancement, presents numerous opportunities for transforming veterinary care practices. This thesis explores the utilization of telemedicine in veterinary care, focusing on its benefits, challenges, and future implications. The study investigates how telemedicine can enhance access to veterinary services, improve animal health outcomes, and increase efficiency in delivering care. Additionally, it addresses the challenges associated with implementing telemedicine in veterinary practice, such as regulatory constraints, technological limitations, and ethical considerations. The research methodology employed a comprehensive literature review to analyze existing studies, reports, and articles related to telemedicine in veterinary medicine. The findings from the literature review provide insights into the current state of telemedicine in veterinary care, highlighting both its advantages and limitations. The study also includes a qualitative analysis of interviews conducted with veterinarians and other stakeholders in the field to gather firsthand perspectives on the use of telemedicine. The results of this research indicate that telemedicine has the potential to revolutionize veterinary care by enabling remote consultations, monitoring of animal health, and improving access to specialized expertise. However, challenges such as data security, regulatory compliance, and the need for specialized training for veterinarians in telemedicine practices are identified as barriers to widespread adoption. The study proposes recommendations for overcoming these challenges, including the development of clear guidelines and standards for telemedicine in veterinary care. In conclusion, this thesis emphasizes the significance of incorporating telemedicine into veterinary practice to enhance the delivery of care, particularly in remote or underserved areas. By leveraging technology to bridge the gap between veterinarians and pet owners, telemedicine offers a promising solution to improve animal health outcomes and promote the overall well-being of companion animals. The findings of this study contribute to the growing body of knowledge on telemedicine in veterinary medicine and offer valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers in the field.
