The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in the overall health and well-being of dogs, with diet being a significant factor influencing its composition and function. This thesis aims to investigate the effects of different diets on the gut microbiome of dogs. The study will involve analyzing the microbial diversity and abundance in the gut of dogs fed with varying diets, ranging from commercial kibble to raw food diets. Through a comprehensive literature review, the existing knowledge on the relationship between diet and gut microbiome in dogs will be examined to provide a solid foundation for the research. Chapter one provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis.
