Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease in dogs that can significantly impact their quality of life. Traditional treatments for osteoarthritis often focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying cause of joint degeneration. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising alternative for treating osteoarthritis by promoting tissue regeneration and reducing inflammation. This thesis aims to explore the efficacy of stem cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in dogs. The introduction provides an overview of osteoarthritis in dogs, highlighting its prevalence, symptoms, and current treatment options. The background of the study discusses the mechanisms of action of stem cell therapy and its potential benefits in the context of osteoarthritis. The problem statement emphasizes the limitations of traditional treatments and the need for alternative approaches to managing osteoarthritis in dogs. The objectives of the study include evaluating the effectiveness of stem cell therapy in improving joint function, reducing pain, and promoting cartilage repair in dogs with osteoarthritis. The limitations of the study are acknowledged, such as the variability in treatment outcomes and the challenges of conducting clinical trials in veterinary medicine. The scope of the study focuses on assessing the short-term and long-term effects of stem cell therapy on dogs with osteoarthritis.
