Green infrastructure has emerged as a critical component of urban planning and development, aiming to enhance environmental sustainability, improve quality of life, and mitigate the impacts of urbanization. This thesis presents an in-depth assessment of green infrastructure planning and implementation in urban areas, focusing on its role in promoting sustainable urban development. The study investigates various aspects of green infrastructure, including its design, implementation challenges, and effectiveness in addressing urban environmental issues. The research begins with a comprehensive review of relevant literature on green infrastructure, highlighting its significance in urban planning and its potential benefits for cities. The methodology chapter outlines the research approach, data collection methods, and analysis techniques employed to evaluate the current state of green infrastructure planning and implementation in urban areas. Findings from the study reveal key insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with green infrastructure projects, including issues related to funding, stakeholder engagement, and policy integration. Thesis Overview

The project titled "Assessment of Green Infrastructure Planning and Implementation in Urban Areas" aims to evaluate the effectiveness of green infrastructure initiatives in urban settings. Green infrastructure refers to strategically planned and managed networks of natural and semi-natural spaces designed to deliver a range of ecosystem services. These services can include stormwater management, improved air quality, biodiversity conservation, and enhanced recreational opportunities. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of integrating green infrastructure into urban planning to address various environmental challenges and enhance the quality of life for city residents. This research seeks to assess the current state of green infrastructure planning and implementation in urban areas, identify key challenges and opportunities, and provide recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of such initiatives. The study will involve a comprehensive review of existing literature on green infrastructure planning and implementation, focusing on case studies from various urban areas around the world. This review will provide insights into best practices, success factors, and potential pitfalls associated with green infrastructure projects.
