This thesis presents an in-depth analysis of the impact of gentrification on affordable housing in urban areas. The study aims to understand the underlying causes of gentrification, its effects on housing affordability, and the potential solutions to mitigate its adverse consequences. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical research, this thesis explores the multifaceted dimensions of gentrification and its implications for urban housing policies. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis.
