Abstract
This thesis investigates the impacts of gentrification on affordable housing in urban centers. Gentrification, as a complex and multifaceted process, has been a subject of growing concern due to its effects on housing affordability and social dynamics within urban areas. The study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how gentrification influences the availability and affordability of housing for low- and moderate-income residents in urban centers. Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, the research examines the patterns, drivers, consequences, and potential mitigating strategies related to gentrification and affordable housing. The introduction sets the context for the study by outlining the significance of the topic, defining key terms, and presenting the research objectives and questions.
