Abstract
Urbanization is a global phenomenon that has resulted in significant changes in land use and land cover patterns, leading to various environmental, social, and economic challenges. Understanding urban growth patterns is crucial for sustainable urban planning and management. Remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have emerged as valuable tools for analyzing urban growth dynamics. This thesis focuses on the analysis of urban growth patterns using remote sensing and GIS techniques in order to provide insights into the spatial and temporal dynamics of urbanization. The study begins with an introduction that outlines the background of the research, presents the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis.
