Abstract
This thesis presents a comprehensive comparative study of the rituals and traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism, two major religions that have shaped the cultural landscape of Asia and beyond. The research aims to explore the similarities and differences in the religious practices of these two faiths, shedding light on their historical development, philosophical underpinnings, and contemporary relevance. Through an in-depth analysis of ritualistic practices, symbolic meanings, and cultural expressions, this study seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the religious dynamics between Hinduism and Buddhism. The introductory chapter sets the stage for the research by presenting the background of the study, defining the problem statement, outlining the objectives, discussing the limitations and scope of the study, highlighting the significance of the research, and providing an overview of the thesis structure. The subsequent literature review chapter delves into ten key themes related to rituals and traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism, drawing upon a wide range of scholarly sources to analyze and compare these religious practices. The research methodology chapter outlines the theoretical frameworks, research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and analytical tools employed in this comparative study.
