Community policing has emerged as a popular strategy for law enforcement agencies seeking to enhance public safety through collaborative efforts with community members. This thesis aims to assess the effectiveness of community policing initiatives in enhancing public safety by examining various aspects of its implementation and impact. The study is guided by the following research questions What are the key features of community policing initiatives? How do community policing initiatives contribute to improving public safety outcomes? What are the challenges and limitations associated with implementing community policing programs? Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on community policing, public safety, and related concepts, highlighting key theories, models, and empirical studies in the field. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, focusing on the effectiveness of community policing initiatives in enhancing public safety.
