This thesis aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes in adolescents. The study will explore the various ways in which social media platforms may influence the psychological well-being of young individuals, considering factors such as cyberbullying, comparison with peers, and exposure to idealized images. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, outlining the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. Definitions of key terms related to social media and mental health are also provided to ensure clarity throughout the research. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review encompassing ten key studies that have explored the impact of social media on mental health in adolescents.
