Abstract
This study delves into the analysis of political participation among young adults in urban areas. The research aims to investigate the various factors that influence political engagement and involvement among this demographic group, with a specific focus on urban settings. The study seeks to address the gap in existing literature by exploring the dynamics of political participation among young adults in urban areas and examining how socio-economic, cultural, and institutional factors shape their political behavior. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on the political attitudes and behaviors of young adults living in urban areas. The study sample will consist of young adults aged 18 to 30 residing in selected urban neighborhoods, with a particular emphasis on understanding their levels of political awareness, interest, and participation. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, detailing the background of the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis. The chapter also includes definitions of key terms to establish a common understanding of the concepts under investigation. Chapter Two presents a thorough literature review that synthesizes existing research on political participation, youth engagement, and urban politics. The review examines theoretical frameworks and empirical studies to highlight the key determinants of political participation among young adults in urban areas.
