Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques play a critical role in maximizing hydrocarbon production from mature oil fields. This thesis focuses on investigating various EOR methods to enhance oil recovery efficiency in mature oil fields. The research involves a comprehensive literature review to evaluate existing EOR techniques and their applications in mature fields. The study also includes a detailed analysis of the challenges faced in implementing EOR techniques in mature fields and proposes strategies to overcome these challenges. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, background information on EOR techniques, the problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. It also includes the definition of key terms related to EOR and mature oil fields. Chapter Two presents a thorough literature review encompassing ten key areas related to EOR techniques for mature oil fields.
