Abstract
This thesis explores the implementation of virtual assistants for office automation, aiming to enhance efficiency and productivity in workplace environments. Virtual assistants, powered by artificial intelligence and natural language processing technologies, have gained popularity in recent years for their ability to perform various tasks and interact with users in a conversational manner. The study begins by presenting an overview of the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 provides an in-depth literature review on virtual assistants, office automation, artificial intelligence, and related technologies. Ten key areas are explored, including the evolution of virtual assistants, their applications in different industries, benefits and challenges of adoption, user acceptance factors, and best practices for implementation. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology employed in this study, encompassing research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. The chapter also discusses the development of a virtual assistant prototype for office automation and the evaluation criteria used to assess its performance. In Chapter 4, the findings of the research are presented and discussed in detail.
