The implementation of Document Management Systems (DMS) in small office environments has become increasingly important in today’s digital era. This thesis explores the significance of integrating DMS in small offices to streamline document handling processes, enhance information retrieval, and improve overall efficiency. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review to understand the current trends and best practices in DMS implementation, followed by a case study analysis of a small office environment that successfully integrated a DMS. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, giving background information on the importance of DMS in office settings. It also outlines the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance of the study, and defines key terms to provide a clear framework for the research. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review covering ten key areas related to DMS implementation in small office environments. This chapter examines the benefits, challenges, and critical success factors associated with DMS integration, as well as exploring different types of DMS solutions available in the market. Chapter Three focuses on the research methodology employed in this study.
