Abstract
This thesis examines the impact of music therapy on the mental health of adolescents. Music therapy is a form of treatment that utilizes music to address emotional, cognitive, social, and physical needs of individuals. Adolescence is a critical period of development characterized by various challenges related to mental health, including anxiety, depression, and stress. This study aims to investigate how music therapy interventions can positively influence the mental well-being of adolescents. The research begins with a comprehensive review of literature on the relationship between music therapy and mental health in adolescents. Various studies have suggested that music therapy can have therapeutic effects, such as reducing anxiety, improving mood, enhancing self-expression, and promoting relaxation. The literature review also explores different approaches and techniques used in music therapy for adolescents. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques employed in this study. A mixed-methods approach will be used, combining quantitative surveys to gather data on mental health indicators and qualitative interviews to explore the subjective experiences of adolescents undergoing music therapy.
