Abstract
Drug-resistant bacteria pose a significant threat to public health, necessitating the exploration of alternative antimicrobial agents. This study investigates the antimicrobial properties of natural plant extracts as potential solutions to combat drug-resistant bacteria. The research focuses on identifying plant extracts with potent antimicrobial activity and determining their efficacy against a panel of drug-resistant bacterial strains. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis. The chapter also defines key terms relevant to the research. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines previous studies on natural plant extracts with antimicrobial properties and their mechanisms of action against drug-resistant bacteria. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the selection and preparation of plant extracts, bacterial strains used in the study, antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods, and data analysis procedures.
