This research project explores the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance information retrieval in digital libraries. The aim is to develop AI-driven tools and techniques that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information retrieval processes, ultimately enhancing user experience and satisfaction. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, discussing the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. The chapter sets the stage for understanding the importance of leveraging AI in digital library settings.
