The present study investigates the impact of digital libraries on information access and user behavior in academic institutions. In recent years, digital libraries have emerged as a crucial component of the academic environment, offering a vast array of resources and services to support teaching, learning, and research activities. This research aims to explore how the adoption of digital libraries influences information access and user behaviors among students and faculty members in academic institutions. The study is guided by the following objectives to examine the background and evolution of digital libraries in academic settings, to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with information access in digital libraries, to assess the impact of digital libraries on user behavior and information seeking patterns, and to provide recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of digital library services. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter 2 critically analyzes existing research on digital libraries, information access, and user behavior, presenting a comprehensive overview of the theoretical and empirical frameworks that inform the study.
