Abstract
Sustainable agriculture practices play a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by rural households in achieving food security and increasing income levels. This thesis investigates the impact of sustainable agriculture practices on rural household income and food security. The study examines various practices such as organic farming, agroforestry, and integrated pest management and their effects on household income generation and food security outcomes in rural communities. The research is guided by the following objectives to assess the current status of sustainable agriculture practices in rural areas, to identify the challenges faced by rural households in adopting sustainable agriculture practices, to analyze the impact of sustainable agriculture practices on household income, to evaluate the effects of sustainable agriculture practices on food security, and to provide recommendations for promoting the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices in rural communities. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to explore existing studies on sustainable agriculture, rural household income, and food security. The review covers various aspects such as the benefits of sustainable agriculture practices, challenges faced by rural households, and factors influencing food security in rural areas. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analytical techniques employed in the study. Findings from the study reveal that sustainable agriculture practices have a positive impact on rural household income and food security.
